Thank me later Their birria is out of this world and I know it is a similar recipe or the same as Fernandez, because La Central is operated by a Fernandez family member who decided to branch out. They have fast efficient service, they greet you and treat you like family. The dining space is really clean and the energy of the space feels very welcoming and fresh. Their birria menu is OUTSTANDING and very authentic and unique. Not your typical, just throw a birria ramen or birria pizza on the menu to make us look cool. NOOOO, they have different ways you can order your tacos and even offer a menudo taco which is something so unique and different. We loved everything we ordered and will be coming back because this is now the best Birria restaurant in all of San Diego. “ First time coming here and it did not disappoint! We came on a Monday around 1p, and while there were other customers, it wasn't overly crowded. Parking was easy with a dedicated parking lot and plenty of spaces. We ordered the full order of Tatemada supreme (melted cheese on top with grilled onions and peppers) and corn tortillas on the side with a side of consume con carne. I loved being able to make our own tacos with the personalized ratio of meat and tortilla. We were given plenty of tortillas and the spice level of the meat was perfect (no additional hot sauce needed). I do wish the tortillas were crispier but it was still delicious! We will definitely be back! ”
